Are you an adult child taking care of your older parent? Then please participate in our study on family relationships and caregiving!
Researchers from Deakin University are conducting a study that investigates how parent-child relationships during the adult years influence how care is given and received between older parents and adult children. This study is crucial to identifying how relational aspects affect caregiver well-being.
Specifically, we are trying to develop a measure that assesses the relationship between the adult child and parent. Previous research on caregiving has used measures of relationship that were developed using romantic couples. We found that these measures may not necessarily apply to the relationship between the adult carer and parent care-recipient. This is why we are trying to develop a better measure for caregivers, and we need your help.
If you are an adult child (18 years of age or older) who is providing some degree of help, care, or support to your older parent, please complete an anonymous online questionnaire that will take approximately 40 minutes to complete.
