So much info out there, facts/fiction etc etc..I have a good feeling about 1 tsp of CO daily at least and then I believe in my grape seed ex for all circulation issues, head to toe....I believe I posted about that in the beginning of the thread. Drying out the brain can't help.

There is just too much good info on the CO and the brain.

People with both normal cholesterol before 85 and high cholesterol after 85 were found to have lower risk

https://www.upi.com/Study-High-chole...5731520279738/

It'd be interesting to see if it means that they were able to avoid medications and supplements up until 85 as a result. Docs no longer push the drugs as hard unless you've had a heart attack.

Both my parents lived into their 90's and I don't know if they ever knew cholesterol numbers and they ate everything including good fats and had good minds when they died. Neither took hardly any drugs. BP and some otc pain meds .

My brother's MIL died of Alzheimer's nearly twenty years ago. When my parents began having memory problems, all the doctor's had to offer were the same mostly ineffective drugs they gave to the MIL twenty years earlier.

It doesn't seem as if we're making a lot of progress medically, so it really is up to us as individuals to do whatever we can to preserve our health and minds. My husband and I do what we feel is right for us, and both hope that our bodies give out long before our minds quit.

This article confirms my observations of temporary worsening in the dementia being linked to constipation.

https://www.alzscot.org/information_...acal_impaction

Anything that causes stress, heightening anxiety and frustration, seems to mimic what's observed with UTIs, colds, flus, etc.

I have backed out of this conversation for a while, gets too depressing. But I'm aware and do what I do to keep my mind working good and it's good at 80.

The constipation issue is interesting, I've changed so much in my bowel regime and after years of constipation issues everything moves so nicely NOW. One biggie is taking ENOUGH magnesium. Just talking to a friend and mentioned this connection and she added that so many older folks are taking so many drugs and too too much calcium and hence the constipation mess. And I choose to spend my money on supplements that work on prevention of dread health issues.

Reduced mobility and lack of activity had brought it on in our case. The doctor I'm dealing with is allowing for higher cholesterol, BP, and BG than normally described for the general population to allow her more energy. She's 90 with dementia, probably Alzheimer's. She becomes more mentally active about 1-2 hours into a meal like the other 90-yo lady on the block. The brain is more resistant to insulin than the rest of the body for a diabetic, and needs pre-diabetic or diabetic blood glucose levels per the NIH study.

Just dropping in after reading a little here today. Again hoping that all the care givers are taking care of themselves and just want to mention the great benefits of taking Grape Seed Extract for so so much of our health issues and that includes reducing amyloid plaque of the brain.

I'm 80 and so far so good and hopefully I'll be one of those who can take care of themselves until............

I'm in my 24th yr of Grape Seed Extract so I don't think it's ever too late until it is too late to start with it.

You can google just about every issue we can have with the words Grape Seed Extract and info will pop up...from eyes, gums, moles, brain, heart etc etc etc.....

Every time I drop in here and read some of the latest stories I think about protecting the caregivers and others, ones with advanced issues, is not what this is about, I don't think.

Do all you know and hear about to keep your own minds.

There is a lot of info in this thread. I'm counting on Grape Seed Extract and you can find plenty of info on the plaque issues and Grape Seed Ex.
