There is a cat at the local veterinarian's office who doesn't care what animal is brought in. He is incredibly laid-back, just lying on the computer monitor watching all the dogs, cats, etc. come and go, or more often just dozing. I realize he's a special case.
The dog trainer/groomer here in town where I also buy my pet food, has a HUGE (at least 20lbs) grey tabby cat that spends it day with..4 GSD, a gold lab, a parrot (whose cage is open during the day), a lizard and that is all I have seen. This cat just lays on the counter watching everything and nothing seems to bother him. I just love going there.
I had a cat who was an only child. He would not tolerate another cat anywhere near him. He was, however, best friends with the lab next door. They used to spend their afternoons together hanging out on either side of a chain link fence. Great cat. (He also ate with his paws so he was pretty cool all the way around.)
When my kitty saw a dog waltzing up to the porch , she stared with mild curiousity . She sniffed him a bit and the dog was very friendly. But then we went back inside ...
But cats are another matter, she does not want to share.......It's hiss time , lol !
Very true. Some cats really are meant to be only cats, but most do adjust and usually form deep bonds with other cats.
She is very independant like me .
I never felt she was lonely. She gets all her lovin' from mama !
