My boy cat sticks his paws under the bathroom door too, as a game. You're suposed to tap them with your finger. I usually oblige him when I've finished what I'm doing.

This made me laugh! We adopted two male kittens in September. They are very different. But the one - Rory - has an obsession with the toilet. He'll come running if he thinks it's about to be flushed, and get up on his hind legs and hang on the edge, staring inside the toilet. For at least a full minute. Every time.

Both are very affectionate - one gives me lengthy baths. The other VERY talkative, lovable and will let me carry him around like a baby. They make us laugh every day with something they are doing/getting in to.

On the other end of the spectrum we have our old cat. We joke that if she was a human she'd wear tin foil on her head and have conspiracy theories. She thinks everyone is out to get her......she is one ODD cat.

i gave up on closing doors, the dogs alone were enough for that...im pretty certain they think the shower is going to eat me...or that theres a secret exit that i use to escape by...lol.

once tempi came along it was even more so, as she quickly learnt how to open latch handles (she still hasnt figured out turn door knobs, but shes working on it...

then jack my macaw came along, and hes out most of the time too (tempi is TERRIFIED of him. likes to watch him but he bites her tail if she gets too close lol) and that just meant doors are nothing but noise machines, if i close a door ive got the dogs barking/whining the cat attempting to open it and the macaw screaming because i dare not pay 100% attention to him at all times lol

the only quiet ones are the lineolated keet and my fish lol

I'm glad he was able to train you .

I have to tear off a square of toilet paper and place it just at the edge of under the door, so that the questing paw can grab it. That's only when I have the door closed to shower though (because it's cold otherwise) I live alone so they all accompany me to the bathroom at other times. The first one in get the Lap. The rest have to either wait their turns, in the hopes that the early bird will get off my lap before I am finished.

Once I got locked into my bathroom because there was a rug on the floor, that spanned either side of the door. My cat pulled all of the rug out from under the door, to the side of the door I was not.

The bunched up rug effectively prevented me from opening the door. I had to take the hinges off the door to get out. Luckily my apartment is tiny and I have limited storage space so have always kept a few tools in a cupboard under the bathroom sink.

Seems there is a whole phenomenon of "cats and bathrooms."

We also are "required" to hand out Q-tips to a few guys whenever we use one to clean our ears. Otherwise, they'll take the used ones from the trash.

We have one that keeps stealing my hubby's headphones from his computer bag at night and bringing them two stories up. That and his rubber ball foot massager. I wish I had seen that because it's not exactly lite.

I filled a basket with various things they play with such as corks, milk jug rings, etc and put it in a place where they can get to it but still think they are stealing.

Depending on the size of the hairbands, you guys might want to keep them away from your cats. Cats can swallow them. I've seen threads in several forums where cats had to have surgery for obstructions, and their bellies and/or intestines were full of hair bands.
