I'd go get an enzyme cleaner like Nature's Miracle to clean any urine up, it completely destroys the odor to prevent the cat re-marking that spot in the future. It can even remove urine from carpet pad if you really soak the spot so it can saturate the pad below. I once had a sick cat urinate a full bladder onto the passenger seat of my car. I had to completely soak the upholstery with NM twice, but there is not so much of a hint of cat urine odor in the car - that really IS a miracle.

YAY!!! She's finally out of heat!! Now, let's hope she stays out of heat until I can get her to the vet on Tuesday!

I'm so aggravated at her previous "owners". The last time she was in heat before I took her in, I had given them the name, address, and phone number of two low-cost vet clinic where they could have gotten her spayed at a very low cost. They (obviously) didn't. What in the world were they thinking???

They probably didn't want to spend the money knowing they were getting rid of her. I don't know how anyone can stand the yowling. I had a poor friend years ago who didn't want to spay her cat since they lived in an apt with no way for the cat to get out. Money was very tight for them at the time. After her cat's second heat they borrowed the money from inlaws and had her spayed. The yowling drove them bananas.

Try Odorzout. 100 percent natural deodorizer. It’s nontoxic, so you can use it any place you have a smell or a stink. It is especially effective on pet urine odors, and because it’s used dry, it’s simple to apply.

I've had a lot of success with Nature's Miracle. Lola, thank you for the link. I have to check this product out.

I don't have any stink issues anymore with having no carpet and throw rugs all fit into the washing machine. However, I know a lot of people that use Ordozout and swear by it. They also like that it is "green," a dry formula, and pet friendly.
