Default Why I love my cat

  1. He's huge (14 1/2 lbs.), mostly white, extremely fluffy and soft
  2. He's gentle; no matter what happens, he never bites or scratches
  3. He watches tv with me
  4. No matter where I go, he follows me (even to the bathroom), and sits next to me if I sit, with his butt up against me, and turns his head around and looks up at me with adoration
  5. His hearing and sense of smell are so much more refined than mine; he alerts me where there is a bug in the house, or anyone outside, or anything unusual that goes on, that I might not really notice
  6. He loves to play
  7. He's so cute when he's asleep
  8. He seems in tune with my emotions; if I'm upset or ill, he's very comforting and he cares about me
  9. He loves to be petted; I basically have a job for life (pet your cat, you have a job for life)
  10. He gets me up in the morning, helps me with my students, and gets fussy when it's bedtime and I don't follow the routine
  11. As much as he hates it, he lets me medicate his eyes, and he takes his medicine without fussing or hurting me
  12. He lets me cuddle him like a baby, put him on my shoulder (heart to heart) and never scratches or struggles to get away

Now if only I could find a husband like that. Oh wait; I don't need one!!

Mine will follow me to the bathroom ... It does get old at times.

^^^^^ You have one too? (husband) I have to lock the door and verbally tell him.....like a kid for crying out loud.....a woman has a right to some privacy in the bathroom.........And that goes for my cats. If I don't close the door, my ankles become cat magnets.

And if I listed the reasons why I love my cats, I um well, would be talking for three days. LOL I love them as much as my own heart beat. Does that say it?

No human husband, no. I should add that I also identify with him, emotionally; he was out there, by himself, with no family or no source of sustenance aside from a garbage bin, when a friend of mine found him. Who knows how long he had struggled, alone, like that? And I know what that feels like, too. Not the garbage bin part, but the survivor part. He's a smart cookie.

The other thing I love about him; I've fostered a few cats, grown ones, and he never started a fight, or was unpleasant or rude. He went up to them and stretched out his chest but it was all for show. He's a gentleman, in other words, in the finest sense of the word. i admire him.

He's a good kitty, with a good heart, intelligent, loving, affectionate, sense of humor, good character and positive moods. We humans could learn a thing or two from him. (Whoever kicked him out or dumped him -- he was fixed and in good health when I got him--is probably regretting it, though it's been over a year ago. Too bad. He's mine now. Their loss.)

He sounds like a very special boy. As for the bathroom following, apparently that is obligatory in a cat. My four have invented any number of Games to help me pass the time when I am enthroned.

I'd much rather have the cats in the loo with me!

Aww Edward sounds so sweet! My Cooper is a lot like him in terms of being laid back. He was so good with my kitten fosters, he's so mellow with changes (like us moving across the country). They are amazing little guys.

Cute. I am still working on bonding with Jasper, he was probably mistreated by a former owner because he is not very cuddly. Or maybe that is just his personality. But he is very cutr, and I never sleep alone, eat alone, shower alone, or use the toilet without supervision.
