I have looked at all those before and even when on sale, I still find the prices at my local store end up being the cheapest.

I keep an eye on the foods I buy in these stores and, even if I am not running low, if I see a good sale, I stock up. Other wise, when I find myself getting down to about a case and a half for any given food, I start searching for the best deal and order another couple of cases. Expire dates are two years in the future, so I don't worry about that.

When the food comes in, I check to see if it is the same lot as the last batch, or different.

When I start a new lot number, I make a note in the cat journal that I have started a new lot of food. So if there are any sudden changes in a cat's health I can have a pretty good idea right away if it might be the food.

(I keep a daily log on my cats. I got into the habit years ago, 1985, to be exact, with my first cat as an adult, when he had cystitis, then asthma....and it's been a very handy habit)

PS in some cases I have used the subscription feature and it has paid off, but I am not currently feeding any foods where I find that the subscription (aka auto ship) provides any benefit.

It is cheaper for me to buy the Wellness at the feed store, though it has just gone up, but I can't get any of the other brands I use locally, so I spend a lot of effort to get the best sales and promos on line.

Well good news, both of my cats seems to be taking to BG. Only problem is they only seem to care for it when the can is freshly open, not after the leftover part has been in the refrigerator all day.

Guess they don't care for the consistency after it tends to thicken up.

Would 5-10 secs in the microwave help?

Don't use a microwave, microwave kills nutrients.

Instead do this: (works best with glass or ceramic dishes)

run hot water over the dish to warm the dish. Leave a little of the hot water in the dish, put the food in and mix it up with the water. If this does not sufficiently warm the food, place the dish of food in another dish of hot water, giving it a warm bath, so to speak, for a few minutes, then stir again before serving. Test the temperature with the back of your finger.

I warm ALL cat food this way, even freshly opened.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been adding lust a little warm water and stirring it all up...it's been working great.

I have found that both of mine much prefer Wellness where they never leave any left overs. BG chicken is the only flavor of BG they seem to like.

Before Grain is superior, to Wellness, for another reason too. It's not full of all those useless fruits and veggies that Wellness has.

I wish my little cat would eat the BG. My bigger girl is doing great on it.
