I think this is remarkable. We always hear about dogs who stay close during a disaster but a cat? I'm not saying they aren't loyal but we all know how independent they are. A remarkable story.

Wow, found ALIVE! I read the thread title and got sad because I figured she was found dead with the cat.

Not really sure why she had the cat out there with her, but it did say there might be a history of mental illness.

Also sounds like there was a nasty communication breakdown, that someone found the car a few weeks ago and only recently did they get this info and start searching. But it does sound like they'll be okay at least.

What an odd story. They found the car, but did not start searching right away? She has a history of mental illness the story says, which might explain why she brought her cat with her into a forest.

Cats are not all that "independent", in spite of their false reputation. Cats form deep emotional attachments and want to be with their humans. Kitty probably hunted for herself and her human, though it doesn't mention whether the woman ate any raw rodents.

Wow, that poor soul. She said she was heading for Florida with the cat.

I'm wondering if the cat let her side to hunt and eat and then returned afterward? It's an important detail gone unreported!
