I think some people hate cats because they are TOO independent. That is one reason why I LOVE cats!

Another reason is they have zero experience with cats. My husband thought he hated cats until I came along. After we got our first cat he was hooked! Now here we are with 6 cats and barely any room for us in our king size bed. So maybe it's a fear of the unknown.

In my experience people who hate cats tend to have the attitude that human being are innately superior and all animals should automatically acknowledge this.

Anytime someone tells me they hate cats, I always ask them if they have ever been owned by one. The answer is always no.

Hate cats? That's blasphomey!

My personal experience with those who hate cats is they can't handle anything that doesn't appear to be devoted to them.

I'm sure there are other logical reasons, but the most obvious is they can't handle cats' independence.

It might have something to do with that cats leave after they have taken to spraying something on your property or leaving deposits in the flower bed

I realized they share some traits with the dog I loved best. They are predators with an independent streak.

They do fine by themselves and can be social and a comfort to someone who wants a low maintenance companion animal. Just got to solve that cat box problem!

Some people don't recognize a gift when they see one! In my opinion, cats are one of the greatest gifts a human could possibly have!!!

I think it's because they never had one, or had one that had a poor temperament (biter, scratcher). Maybe they had a bad early experience with a cat/cats. And there are mentally ill people who like to harm them simply because they're "crazy."
