Night owl that I am, it's not unusual for me to eat supper after a new day begins. My dinnertime for Tuesday was about two hours ago.
I like eating in my big upholstered living room chair 'cause it's more comfy than the wooden chairs at the kitchen table. Partly due to some rain outside, Blaliko and Seteria were playing + grooming + snuggling on the rug close by. As I cleaned my plate, Seteria approached me and sat down a couple of feet away. There was nothing unusual in that - as long as this has been her home base she's been one to watch from a distance. But up until this morning she would always take off if any movement toward her was made.
Not this time! She flopped down on the rug, on her right side, then stre-e-e-e-etched out until her front feet were just shy of my left foot (which was clad in a sandal.) I put down my fork and stayed still to see what would happen. Lo and behold, she extended her left front paw 'til it touched my big toe. She gave it a few curious pats, withdrew, then did it again several more times. Before she decided "enough boldness for now" she had involved both front paws and had tapped the first three toes.
"Baby steps..."

Methinks you're on the home stretch now!!! I can only imagine how absolutely thrilled you were to have that contact!!! If you get really bold, buy some catnip spray and spray your foot next time - that should win her heart forever (oh, and pick up a box of band aids and some Neosporin while you're at it!!) Thank you for sharing!!!!
