We not only bought another 1/2 dozen nightlights recently, but are replacing our dark throw rugs with light colored ones. I bought a bunch on sale this past week. We've both tripped over the cats in the dark. With light carpets and more nightlights we hope to avoid accidents, both to them and us.
I'm sayin'...Nimbus is like a NINJA. I've got night lights all over the house. And even in the broad light of day, how it is that a grey cat can blend in with a brown/white/green rug with magnolia flowers on it...? But he does. He is a master of stealth. And just when I'm sure he's in another part of the house entirely, he materializes silently right behind my feet. I've learned to anticipate him on the stairs though. He can't resist a person going up or down the stairs, especially if they are carrying stuff. But usually he doesn't merely want to accompany one up or down, and gets accidentally underfoot, oh no...he comes flowing up the steps behind me like a fluffy shadow and pounces at my legs. But I've come to expect this, I usually stop and talk to him, so he'll go about his business and pretend he wasn't up to anything naughty at all.
Cha-Cha likes to sleep as inconveniently as possible draped across my feet. I kicked her when turning around last night. She instantly attempted amputation of the offensive big toe (size 10). We agreed on me keeping my toe and she her fleece blanket to herself. Darn fast that furry thing!
Shadow-Cat lives up to her name. She is very big and you cannot see her. We took up shuffling at night. One of her favorites - dash by when a human is heading towards the shower, see if you can body check him and get in first. We how have a big grab bar installed.
