I know they discontinued PZI which from my research was very effective.

My cat takes Lantus (3 years now) which doesn't work well at all in my cat. She gets 17 units twice a day and reacts to it like it water.

What about this prozinc a new Vet recommended. It's also a human insulin so why should I trust that this will work any better.

From my research cats insulin is closer to #1 pigs, #2 Cows, but is very different than human insulin.

So sorry to hear about your insulin struggles. Though I put my long-lived diabetic cat to sleep a couple years ago, he did great on twice daily PZI bovine (not to be confused w/ the old discontinued PZI). My vet in Florida flew it in for us from the Texas supplier. Before the new PZI was available my cat tried pills & various human insulins, none of which worked.

I believe Vetsulin is a porcine insulin and still made. You might have to order it online and have it shipped.
