He might have a lot of Siberian in him. He sure looks like a sweetie pie. One of my cats was an apparent Siberian. The fur and ruff are much more developed than a Maine Coon similar to a Norwegian Forest cat. Their build is similar to the NFC too. Their legs are shorter than a Maine Coon. Unlike a Norwegian Forest Cat that has a straight nose bridge from the forehead to the tip of the nose, Siberians have a little ski jump. Their eyes are rounder than a Norwegians too. They have wonderful dispositions. They love to be with you. Mine would answer me any time I'd ask him a question. He also was very smart and learned tricks quickly and easily.( I really miss him. I'd still have him if an incompetent vet hadn't essentially killed him. He was 18 and probably would have lived to 28.) Lucky you. There are lots of natural things you can do to get rid of the Fiv so I wouldn't worry. I also wouldn't do anything for it that a conventional vet might suggest without making sure the so called treatment won't make him worse.
It's been a few months so I thought I would update you. Hilton is mostly integrated into the house. He's had all of his shots, been neutered and gained a pound. He's a big boy at 16 pounds. He also thinks he is a lap kitty and follows me around all day. He still avoids the other cats when he can but he is now making himself at home all over the house
