"Look who's talking," but I think this thread has gone way off track.
The Buried Bart incident is also an object lesson regarding crowd funding sites. A lot of shady people are in on that game, preying on kind hearts and open wallets. Thousand$$$ meant to "help the poor kitty" are now in who knows who's kitty. (See what I did there? ) Know the people setting up the crowd fund, and why, or hold onto your money.
I would like to believe that the Humane Society is not doing this because they have a famous "cash cat". I really hope not. I mentioned in the other thread about this that I know the "neighbor". I hate to say that she is indeed a relative. I notified the family and NO ONE is surprised by her actions. It was even mentioned by another family member that she or her children probably had something to do with Bart's injuries, especially since one of their cats died the same time as Bart. It disgusts me that she is a relative. The most of us are cat lovers and find her actions disgusting.
I just want to say one thing about all the insulting comments directed at Florida. There are some nice places left that haven't been over run by "crazybats" and transplants. I wish you all could see some of the old time sleepy towns that are left there. That's the Florida I know. I feel like I have to say something since my Mom was a seventh generation Floridian. I feel like I have to defend against some of the comments because I have roots there! I may be half yankee and raised in the north but sometimes I can feel my southern roots tugging, hence the need to defend. Sorry for the mini rant.
I would have never mentioned being related to "her" if not for the fact that she had to go and use her maiden name instead of her married name. I don't know why the dingbat had to go and bring shame to the rest of the family. Ugh.
Yeah, no matter where you live or grew up, no place is perfect. I live a few miles from where I was born, in a small town. Thirty miles north is the 'big city' of Wichita, and you couldn't pay me enough to live there either. My comment about Florida was just a personal opinion, which I probably should have kept to myself . Still don't want to go there though, just not my cup of tea.

As for Bart the cat, I really hope he doesn't go back to his owner. I love my cats and I can't comprehend how someone can do that to their cat! I don't know if you watched the video of Bart when they were trying to treat his eye with epsom salts. These people just make me sick to my stomach. I feel ashamed for being related to one of them. You can see why I'm a little sensitive.

No, I didn't see that (& don't want to). I'm more convinced than ever the cat should go somewhere else, for it's own good.
Bart has been through enough - all he wants is to have a family that will love him and a good home, which means HE never wants to go back to that place and the people that caused him so much suffering. I usually reserve judgement but you can't ignore the evidence - there are videos! A picture is worth a thousand words, and a video, well....
