I have a friend that rescues Florida's wild panthers (have been hit by cars most of the time).
The cats he keeps cannot be returned to the wild.
He took me up to one of the cages several years ago, and the full grown cat made a sound that I can only describe to you as the sound of a songbird! I was amazed. The chirping sound that this big cat made still haunts me till this day. What an eye-opener.

Very sweet.

I've held a lion cub. She was about 3 months old. Teeth starting to break through the gums and she wanted to chew fingers.

Geez........that must have been over 25 years ago now!

I can't think of a better reason to become a chew toy.
I greatly envy you having that experience.

They showed this video on a local news station about a week ago. Truly awesome!

So adorable. But, all babies (no matter the species) are SOOOOOO cute.

Ok, so I'm going to throw a wet blanket on all this. Absolutely, the cub is adorable. But major red flag for me is that this cub is on a human-used sidewalk all by itself and desperately looking for his/her mother. Where was this? What "local station" aired it? I will feel so much better if I know the backstory so that I can chime in with cute and adorable and awesome.
