Don't have carpets -- or even upholstered furniture -- so hoping the Revolution will suffice! No harmful side effects from the first application (three more to go, just to be safe). Thanks, all!

Eggs can live anywhere, including cracks in the floor and under the cushions of the couch.

Use the Revolution for 6 months and vacuum several times a week everywhere. The vacuuming vibrations will help to stimulate any eggs into hatching. Then the fleas will jump on the cat and be killed.

Revolution is great. My indoor cats also got fleas about a year ago at my old apartment (with carpet) and I used Advantage. It worked for maybe two weeks but they still had the fleas. I applied Revolution after waiting the full month and it really worked. I also used diatomaceous earth on the carpets, so if you find that the fleas are hanging around the house outside of just on the cats, I highly recommend that as well.

We also spray the house with Insect Growth Regulator as it stops the nymphs from turning into adult fleas. They simply die. If the house isn't treated all those eggs will hatch, nymphs turn into fleas, and the infestation continues. I think DH orders it from Amazon.
