Hi I've come here for help in the past and you've help so I hope you can again my cat (I believe around a year old or so she is a take in) has gone into heat and is starting to meow loudly so much so I haven't slept well in 2 days. What can I do to calm her down till after her heat cycle so I can then get her spayed. I heard its riskier to have a cat in heat spayed and I would like to avoid doing so unless absolutely nessasary. I just want her to stop meowing so loud I don't mind the rolling around and such but if I don't get a good nights rest soon I'm afraid I'll lose my patience with her. I know this is my own fault for not having her spayed sooner but I can't change that now. Please any advice is welcome. A note I do have a older male cat who is nuetured he has shown no interest in her which is good. I'm not sure if that matters or what but please if you know anyway to get her to stop meowing be so much I would be very very greatful I have exams all week in school and need a good night rest
See if your vet will spay her now. A lot will, especially those that are used to spaying ferals whenever they can be trapped! And some females will continue to cycle, making it difficult to try to make a spay appointment for the "off" time. I know, it is maddening to listen to them, but she is being tortured by her hormones that tell her she needs to get pregnant.
Good luck with her!
