Over this last weekend, I think she did it several times. We let her do it because she does look so content, her pupils get superdilated.
After a couple minutes she stops, then goes back to normal. If it gives her comfort and soothing and if it makes her think of her mom and siblings, then I let her be also. She isn't showing any other signs of anxiety/abandonment/ etc.

I feel the same way. Josette usually comes up to me either before we go to sleep while we are watching a movie or in the middle of the night when I wake up. If I have the blanket on, I will take the blanket off so she can have access to the sheet or if I have the covers totally off, I will put the sheet over me so-again, she can have access to it. She purrs (which is very low so you can hardly hear it) and she seems very content as she kneads. I actually like it when she does it to my back. There is nothing like getting a massage from your cat.

My 11 month old kitten "suckles".

After a few days of living with me, I noticed that she was suckling on a throw I had over my sofa whenever we had a cuddle. I researched it and learned that apparently (as others have mentioned) it was a sign of anxiety and that the behaviour should be discouraged.
I was mortified! I tried to stop her but!!! I just couldn't. She was having a GREAT time. Suckling, kneading, purring her little heart out. Like she's in a trance. I asked my vet twice about it, and both times I was reassured that there was nothing to worry about! So I stopped trying to discourage her. She's definitely not anxious!

The wet spots on the throw annoyed me after a while so I redirected her efforts to a soft toy mouse. Whenever she is in a "cuddly mood", she will start looking for her mouse to suckle on LOL. She loves being petted whilst "wool sucking". I now have one toy mouse upstairs and another one downstairs, just in case

I've seen the Catsifier before and was really tempted to buy one! Has anyone here got one for their cat?
