Nope, don't bathe 'em. They groom themselves and each other. Even the old guys, who eventually enter the "grooming optional" stage of life, only need combing, with an occasional butt wipe. They also like their faces wiped. Probably reminds them of Mom.

Hmmm...

Threestep, are you able to paraphrase why the article is recommending bathing cats once a month? Is this for indoor cats?

It does not specify indoor/outdoor and is part of a 'how to have a clean house' article.

Ha! Yeah....that's not happening. I like my skin too much, and it would all be clawed off it I tried that nonsense.

Never really cared for Martha Stewart.....

I found it simply hilarious! It is not happening here. BC/BS does not cover cruelty to animals. In situations such as exposure to paint, chemicals, grease, ... it may be a necessity. Been there!

I've never bathed my cat and I don't think she would allow it anyway.

When I moved, my cat flew in the cabin with me but got carsick on the ride to the airport. He got a bath in the airport sink before going through security, and I had to dig tshirts out of my luggage to put in this crate because the padding was a total loss. Boy, did we get looks. He was so dejected that he just put up with me soaping him up in the sink. He got a real bath once we got to my new apartment on the other side of the country, but that was the last time - almost 6 years ago now!

Like others, he occasionally gets his bum wiped.
