I was going to post a pic of cats & babies but when I did a Google image search, there were just too many adorable pics to chose from.

We adopted a 4-week old baby with Down syndrome and he could pick up anything going around pretty easy. The cat slept with him in the play pen during the day. As he grew, he was always hanging on the cat, very patient and wonderful cat. He learned to walk early for someone with DS because he wanted to get to the cat, including climbing stairs. He never had a health issue associated with the cat.

There are "wives tales" out there about cats but I haven't found them to be true in my many years of life.

It is important to keep the cat box clean. People that are dirty shouldn't keep pets or children in the house with them.
