My cat who was normally fine with our dog suddenly rushed at him and dug her claws into his face. She actually left a broken claw in his muzzle. Needless to say after that he hated her. He had on a Halloween costume and she didn't recognize him I guess.

on a similar level, we had 2 males dogs that had lived together YEARS. NO issues. Until we moved to our house and then all of a sudden the beagle hated the husky/lab and would literally fight ( to the death if we had let them and it got closee a few times sadly) every chance he could... We tried EVERY.THING. Re introducing them, slow introductions, sharing, etc and nothing. Like you 1 was neutered and 1 was not. People told us " get him neutered, it will calm him "...so we did. Still didnt solve the issue. After much debate, we took him to a beagle rescue. It started causing stress between the other dogs and even us too!

Im not saying rehome your cat, im simply saying try anything to reunite them but know when to say enough is enough too.
