I saw the question "How often do you vacuum?" discussed elsewhere. Several people said they have to vacuum more often because they have cats.
Interesting. I vacuum less often because of the cats. I know the bedroom needs to be vacuumed, but there is a cat sleeping on the bed. Family room? The old one is resting on her favorite heat vent, and a young one is on his tree, looking out the window. So I can't vacuum at this end of the house, and I can't vacuum at the other end.
I have the Dyson Cordless V6 and just go around the house with it daily. It really picks up the cat fur that you don't see. 3 cats and hardwood floors.....easy.
This is a difficult question. I used to vacuum daily even before I got a cat. It didn't change when I rescued her.
Now, while I still have a cat, I only vacuum once a week. We have been on mandatory overtime for over a year now. With my long shift and commute, I am gone at least 15 hours per day, six days a week. I'm not home to vacuum. And, since I live alone, I ignore it until Sunday.
So- it used to be the same because I already vacuumed a lot
Now, it is less, but it is due to my schedule, not having a cat.
Pretty much every day. They track litter out of their boxes and we also vacuum after scooping it. We also pick up a lot of hair each time. We also have one of those rechargeable hand held vacuums and use it for occasional clean ups on aisle kitty.
Last night I cleaned the shop office for Mama Kitty, she hated the vacuum, but it does look nicer. I do the shop probably once a week so I do not disturb her too much with the noise.
I have seven cats in a small ranch house, so I invested in a rumba and us it daily. It runs for about an hour and "docks" itself and then I empty the dust bin. It does a good job. The cats were wary of it at first and would hide when I turned it on. After a while they started following behind it to see what it would do next. It almost looked like a parade. Sometimes it would turn around to face them and they would go scattering in every direction. Now they just ignore it while it skims around them.

Love this! Kitty rumba tv!
I vaccuum once a week but sweep daily, and shop vac that up (mostly due to the dogs). Cat hair usually sticks to blankets, and cat beds - those are washed once a week. I have severe dust allergies, so I really have to keep it up, I will probably have to hire someone because the mask and goggles sometimes don't cut it.
And to think I used to think I was allergic to my cats!
I don't even own a regular vacuum. I have a ShopVac for those rare occasions when I need it. We got rid of our carpets over 30 years ago and like our hardwood floors much better. I sweep every 2-3 days, more often if someone decides to scatter litter. (Yeah, I am looking at YOU, Miss Princess Nicole!)
