Unlike the other shapes like circles, cats seem to like square shapes on the floor.

How to mess with your cat by drawing a square | MNN - Mother Nature Network

Cats are quirky. There's no question about it. We know they like to hide in boxes and knock things over. They are persnickety about their drinking preferences.

But the latest kitty question involves a roll of tape. If you make a square on your floor, what will your cat do? Turns out a lot of cats will get inside it.

Saw a great show on PBS a few months back about cats-the big ones to the domestic. Seems that they are the top predator on the planet before we came along. They even out-perform dogs.
So a lot of evolution is going on there. And yes, as PAhippo mentioned, who can understand a cat?
Interesting topic Suburban.

That would be an understatement.

And do we really want to know what our cat's are thinking? After pondering that question for many years, I've decided the answer is no. I'm not good enough at Quantum Physics to even begin to understand cat logic.

Besides, trying to figure them out is part of the fun... and gives us something to do.

Maybe that's what they're trying for-total human confusion. Probably a conspiracy.

Yeah, you might be onto something there.

I did this a couple of days ago and my 2 indoor cats could care less. Bright blue painter's tape on my kitchen floor. Got my husband's attention. He asked what's this on the floor so I blamed my daughter.

You should have told him "It's an IQ test for cats.... and you passed".
