Not very odd but Bolo loves plastic bags. Ironically this was a plastic bag from a pet store from when I had purchased actual cat toys. He likes when I ball them up and throw them.

Pencils: I have one cat that attacks the erasers first, then the pencil itself.
Manila folders: I have several with teeth marks along the edge.
Nail files: I can't file my nails without being attacked by my male, Sylvester.
Pens: My female, Shivers, is obsessed with the pen on the kitchen table. She keeps playing with it and knocking it to the floor.
Hair elastics: I think that this one is pretty common, as I have known a lot of cats who are obsessed with hair ties. But they are so dangerous. My neighbor's cat had to have surgery to have hair elastics removed from his stomach (through no fault of my neighbor). The cat was so obsessed with the elastics that he actually opened the bathroom drawer to get at them.

You reminded me that our late Tucker also had an obsession with pens. His eyes would get huge and he'd have to grab it.

He also had a thing for the arms of my husband's eyeglasses. He'd bite the ear piece. No idea why.

We've had cats who like to chew on the bristles of toothbrushes.

It's like they "know."

The rings off milk jugs. I buy them cat toys and they play with them for a few days then...meh. But milk rings, drop one accidentally on the floor and they go all spastic trying to steal it from each other like it's the platinum edition of cat toys. Go figure. Person could make a fortune probably making milk jug rings for cat toys, lol.

I started laughing when I read the description of his eyes getting huge; it perfectly describes an imminent attack on an inanimate object that the cat is obsessed with and suddenly realizes is within reach

My girl Sheba has a severe crush on my old pair of flip-flops. She'll lay on them, rub herself all over them, do a front paw grab and bunny kick routine, then chew on them a bit. Watching her, you would swear those flip-flops were made of catnip. Fortunately she lets me take them off before doing her thing.

My SIL's cat rubs against my shoes - while I'm wearing them!
