What the heck is wrong with people? This is so terrifying.

Why do people let cats roam outside in danger? It'd not just crazy humans, & their cars that can harm them, but other animals too.

Funny thing is another thread just suggested to send a note home on the collar of a scrawny, poor condition cat of unknown ownership.
Cats should not be let outside unless you are ready to lose them.
But I'm sure this is a main debate on this forum.

"Oh, were so worried every time he goes outside!!!"

Hey, dumbass. Keep your cat inside.

You know, there is a reason responsible pet owners don't leave their pets outside unsupervised.

I'm going to send my cat over to you and I want to see you on video trying to keep him in. It's not happening.

I agree it's the ideal. After losing one I wanted a kitten I could raise to never know what outside even is. But I didn't get to do that.

A homeless adult came along and said I am hungry, wet, and cold. I want in, human, but do not try to control me, mkay?

If you can make some kind of a catio (patio for cats), then kitty can go out without bothering the neighbors or getting exposed to cars and creeps.

It's not like it was in the 1960s when you could let a cat roam the neighborhood: there are too many idiots around now, some with trigger fingers.

Make a nice catio and put some cat grass in low pots and perches to snooze on. Kitty will be delighted (and safe)!

That's a pretty specific circumstance.

You think all the people on that street adopted angry homeless kitties that wandered by? Might could, I suppose.

Most cat people I know don't let their cats out ever.

exactly! why why and why would you release your cat into the outside world where so many horrible things could happen to them? I would freak out if my cat or dog got loose out doors. OMG!!!! We are so cautious going in and out the door for fear one of them would get out.

LOL! He is that. But the other one is not and he won't stay in either. He ACTS like a homeless cat. He comes in to eat and drink and maybe a little nap and then ZOOM, back out. I keep saying 'You know you live here, right?' He knows. He says home is only for daytime sleeping.

Cats are nocturnal and want to roam. It is very hard to keep them in if they were not raised from babies to not know what outside is.

Even my girl who didn't want to roam wanted to just sit out there. Until almost daylight, was her preference.
