Mix a little diotamacious earth in with her wet food. That'll take care of intestinal parasites and worms....easy...sprinkle some on her to take care of her fleas as well...it MUST be food grade, usually easily bought at most places that sell large animal foods, and very, very inexpensive.

All my cats and kittens have been rescues..found...some so tiny that their eyes weren't open, and their ears just little flaps.
Great to hear your kitten is eating solids...don't worry about milk then.
Don't bother with vaccines if you want a cat that'll live a long healthy life.
None of my 7 cats ever have...one of them is now 25 years old...never been to a vet...never will.
This is probably not the time or place, but I think you are giving out very bad advice.

I think many people do use vets too much, when a healthy diet and more holistic remedies would serve them better, and I know many over-vax, but to imply that vet visits are always a waste of money is just plain irresponsible.

And what chemical would that be?
Surely you don't mean diotamacious earth?

Maybe you mean vaccines?, they're loaded with the chemicals you speak of.

maybe...but I've taken pets to them twice...and both times they absolutely failed me and the pet.
I'd never go again.
Giving advice to go to a vet is not at all helpful for most people,
they flat out just COST TOO MUCH.
I think they're a BIG ripp off.
I took one of my dogs to the vet (had an appointment already made) to get neutered, and they refused to do him unless i paid for a vaccine shot as well.
As I left I said...well, then Chance gets to keep his balls and I get to keep my money.
Chance never did get fixed.
I can't imagine taking one of my many pets to a vet for a visit...just putting your foot in the door costs money.

Checking in to see if the kitten has been to the vet yet? Bring in a stool sample to check for parasites. It's likely he has some (very common).

Responsible pet owners take their pets to the vet. If you can't afford medical care for an animal, then you shouldn't have a pet.

There places/rescues that will give free vaccines and often free spay or neuter.

I consider myself a "responsible pet owner".
I have 7 cats...all rescues (some just days old) who're all healthy and happy.
I have 2 dogs, and a few other pets as well.

I don't want their "free" vaccines.
Would have loved the free spay and neuter though, but it's not available where I live...and if it's contingent on getting the animal vaccinated first, I'd pass.
Why pay a vet unless it's absolutely needed?
I CAN afford medical care for my animals...
Wealth has nothing to do with it...I've seen more than one animal abused and neglected by people who had plenty of money.
Saying you shouldn't have an animal if you can't afford extravagant vet visits is cruel.
I know some very poor people who love and cherish their pets.

When you recommend using dte (diatomaceous earth), if you suggest it for eating or putting on the fur, you need to stress FOOD GRADE. DTE comes 2 ways, food grade and non-food grade and it has 2 uses - edible for internal and sprinkled around the home to prevent insect infestations.

I do not have a lot of experience using food grade dte - but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to someone new to rescue to give to a small kitten.

This from my earlier post...check it out!!!!!!
note how it says "it MUST be food grade"!!!!
Did you get it this time?

I have a LOT of "experience" using diotamacious earth...thus the recommendation...it's a lot less toxic than anything the vet will give you.
I even ingest it myself occasionally.

What shot were they requiring? Most vets want to know that an animal has been vaxxed against rabies before they will treat it. They are protecting themselves and their staff, and ultimately, the pet and its owner, when you consider that unvaxxed pets must be quarantined if they bite someone.

I have posted a couple of times that I think many people over-vax their pets, and I have had indoor cats for whom a vet visit was rare, indeed, but I don't understand the mentality of "never." What will you do when you have a pet with a strange growth, a broken bone, or sudden, unexplained weight loss or lethargy? Even the best amateur diagnostician or home nurse occasionally needs help.
