Sheeza has her own pillow. In fact my wife will ask, "Where's my Pillow Kitty?"

This is Saami and she is nearly twelve years old. She sometimes sleeps on the bed with me but doesn't care to snuggle or to be touched.

Being petted is saved for early evenings when I sit in my cozy chair and want to read the newspaper. Forget it. Her rule is "If you are holding me no eating or newspapers or I'll leave."

When my alarm rings in the morning if I don't get up she extends a single claw and touches me lightly on the end of the nose with it to tell me it's time to get up. What an irritating way to be awakened!

Some times my critter does wake me up, but I always thank him in the morning for sleeping with me when he's there (more, lately, in fact just about every morning now when I wake up he's on the bed).

I think you probably do get better sleep when they're not jumping on/off the bed, meowing, begging for food and whatnot, but it's hard to lock them out of the bedroom, because we love them.

I have put two and two together. I think some times when he comes up by my head in the morning, he's saying "dad, it's time for breakfast", since I have started putting out less of his food when I feed him.

He really is like my baby boy/son/little child.

We have 2 Maine Coons and one short hair rescue. The female Maine Coon is the only one who sleeps on the bed with us. It was funny...the very first day we got her, we went into the bedroom to go to sleep and she walked in behind us and sort of gave us this “Oh, is this where we sleep?” look and has been sleeping on the bed with us ever since that day.
