You can also start at some point to try to mix in other food to transition.

If they feel something made them ill, they won't want that for a while. But you can change it up with a little tuna juice on top.

Thanks!

LOL I've heard a lot of great things about tuna water, in particular. Sometimes when they won't drink anything else, they'll drink that. They do love their tuna!

That's great news about Jackie. It's always a good day when they get back to their old selves.

Problem is, tuna is very bad for cats, so should only be used in great moderation. Bone broth would be better, especially homemade. Or even meat broth (made the same way as bone broth). Bone broth will be more nourishing, but both would make good appetite starters.

Hope Jackie is feeling better. Will be interested in what the GI panel shows.

I'll be interested too...it takes a week or so as it must be sent to Texas for reading.

Tuna was only given to help him start to eat SOMETHING...he doesn't like the id they gave him, so I might go with chicken most of the time, that's bland...will keep some in the freezer for emergencies.

Now to separate one cat on cd and another needing id or a bland diet...

I have three cats on three different diets.

Yes, the GI panel goes to Texas A & M. (I had it run for a cat a few months ago)

Fantastic ! love how he's rallied.

Do you think she could be somewhat of a secret drinker? I had one of those. After a few years I'd hear her drinking in the kitchen or wherever the dishes were...in other words, she knew I was nearby and was drinking. If I looked around the corner she'd stop. Yet she loved me, slept with me, played games on me. Eventually she would continue to drink when I looked in on her. Then, voila, I was doing work and heard lapping and there she was at the water bowl at my feet lapping way.

GI panel results....liver fine, pancreas enzymes elevated a bit....could have been a one time episode or could indicate possible chronic inflammation of the pancreas, that could come and go...could also been a digestive/intestinal inflammation.

Hoping he'll not have further issues, of course. Doing great now.
