My cat does this weird thing, his tail is straight up and its base is vibrating. To me it looks like he's marking. He's neutered and I can't smell anything, so he can't be marking, can he? Actually it seems like a positive thing because he does it when he sees his food bowl approaching. So what is he doing?

My cat is a spayed female and she does the same thing from time to time. I think it's like NYC says, overdose of the happy pill.

It's a good emotion anyway. It's certainly not about spraying. Most cats vibrate their tails, you can see it when you get home or when you're getting ready to feed them.
