I came across several videos showing cats in ball pits, like the ones you use for kids. Obviously the pit/pen can be smaller for a cat, but we're having trouble figuring out how many balls we should start with. I tried messaging some folks who'd posted a YouTube video of their cat in the ball pen and all I got back was a canned reply to check out their FAQ page and training page on FB (neither of which had the info I was looking for). I'm guessing maybe 150-200 balls? Has anyone ever done this for their cat?

And yes, I know to get the chemical free balls.

Here's a video of what I'm referring to:

Looks like Chewy.com and Petco.com sell kits.

Cole and Marmalade have a page on them too, theirs is pretty cool

Yes! Minus the pit part. And if I looked under or behind everything I owned I suspect I'd come up with the 150-200 balls I bought for them over the years.

Seriously though, this looks pretty fun for a cat. Although for my two I suspect they will grow tired of it after a while. They are like kids, I swear. Always looking for the next best thing. *wink*

I wonder if the lining of the pit would survive the nails though?

Another cat site used a heavy cardboard box for their "pit". The cat didn't seem to mind at all. I suspect the pit part is to corral the balls for the owner more than the cat

Like the link I posted above, Coal and Marmalade. Have a look.
