Thanks to everyone for all the support and good thoughts in this difficult time.

Here is a picture of Penelope on the left with her friend Bianca

Thank you! We are actually in the slow process of being adopted by another feral. Rufus is this big tough guy who comes by every day to get his food. We have a green house that we leave open. he comes in about 6 am to get fed. he's pretty standoffish right now, but we're working on it.

OP, you and Penelope got 15 years with each other! I hope that your happy memories of her will help you over the years.

RIP, sweet Penelope.

Thank you,

We have a piece of land and we buried her this morning. My wife paints rocks and is going to paint a rock in Penelope's honor.

Late with my condolences, but no matter. So sorry for your loss. Penelope was a very pretty lady, and no doubt she is missed terribly. Just remember the good life she had with you, and that she was happy.
Run free at the Bridge, sweet girl.

And the best of luck with Rufus, too.

It is hard to lose a loved pet. My sympathies.

Sorry. I know exactly how you feel. We are still teary and it has been over a week for us. It will get better and beautiful memories will remain...

I'm sorry for your loss. We were looking at pictures of Penelope and the emotions started welling up again. It's going to take a while but we'll get through it. One of the saddest things with Penelope was self starvation from the Feline Herpes. We tried everything we could think of to get her to eat and it just didn't help. She didn't appear to be in any pain, but she got thinner and thinner and weaker and weaker. At the end she couldn't walk and just slipped into a coma. very sad.
