Are you sure they are Cats? Listen carefully and if they bark, you may want to look at more cat pictures.

Boxes are an essential part of a cat. sort of like a shell is to a turtle.

For me, the trick is knowing their personality, being able to read their body language, and above all paying attention to what they're telling me.
I find this to be true as well. We have one cat that I could pet until my hand fell off and I don't think he'd tire of it, another who bites after a few strokes, and the third who seems ok with it for a while then leaves. He likes to sleep snugly against me however, the other two just like to be nearby. I agree about body language, one of my cats bit me so bad once that I had to get a tetanus shot and antibiotics. He was overstimulated and I wasn't paying attention so he bit me.

It is wise to pay attention to a cat's moods. they are experts at getting revenge if you get them angry.

I love that term. Makes me wonder if a cats opinion of humans would be 'annoyingly dysfunctional'.
Maybe it works both ways.

Neither one of my cats will play in boxes or bags. They are almost 12 but I don't recall them ever doing that. Now they will sleep in anything too small for them but they don't evn try to sleep in a box a bit bigger than they are.

Nimbus loves boxes and bags. I've probably already share this, but *shrug* it's a cute pic so here...

Sweet & Savory Nimbus in a box.

A photo session on the cat tree today, when she finally tired out. Eyes are turning gold now.
