She is perfect. How did you name her?

^Me too!

Last night I was tagged on Instagram to post a picture of something I was looking at. I was getting a drink of water in the dark before bed. Mimi was standing next to me. She hated the flash on the phone camera.

Last night Mimi cuddled up with me. I love the way she sleeps and had to snap a picture or two:

Looks very familiar. I always make a point of praising and thanking my cats for their gifts. Certainly don't want them to think I'm ungrateful because I don't eat the meals they bring home.

Actually, I am grateful because thanks to them, I don't have a rodent problem.

Best way to relax is watch a cat sleep.

Works every time.

Portia was the heroine of "Merchant of Venice," one of Shakespeare's lesser-known but still relevant and interesting works. Beautiful, demure, yet brave. A name that always stuck, across the decades since classical lit in college.

Portia's brother, Audie, is a sniper of spiders in my house. Or any other crawling critter, of which there are thankfully few due to his efforts. I had no idea spiders were so tasty; who knew? Audie Murphy was a famous marksman, & highly decorated American soldier in WWII.

Rather brash, too, is my tomcat Audie.

And, in the end, one might want to look in my garage for a bit of inspiration why I chose those two homophone names
