We have no idea when our cats were born; the vet gave us an estimate, but we have no way of knowing for sure.
They're spoiled rotten 365 days out of the year anyway.

LOL...Our rescue we guesstimated to be born in July...so we gave him my husbands birthday . The others were all purchased from breeders so I know exactly when they were born. I even helped deliver Kaci!

My daughter has assigned them birthdays based on what color they are. Salem is black and his birthday is on Halloween. Rufus who has passed away was a red point Siamese, he was sort of the color of pumpkin so my daughter decided Thanksgiving was his day. We also have a white cat, Tumnus. We joke that he looks like the Easter Bunny so of course his birthday is on Easter. We even bought a pair of rabbit ears for him but he really doesn't appreciate having to wear them.

Oh, yes! We give Mickey a whole can of tuna on her Birthday, which we have decided to celebrate on the anniversary of the day she came to live with us. Now, Shadow on the other hand, gets a party with her dog friends invited and a special doggie birthday cake.
Here is the 3 layer tuna cake with purple cream cheese frosting we had last year

For pets whom I know their real birthdate, I will celebrate it as such.
For the pets I received from a shelter, I celebrate their adoption date as their birthdate. Afterall, coming from a shelter, it's like a new life for them.

I got my Patrick from the shelter on a July 11 and took him to the vet for an exam before going home. Doc said he was "one year old and about half grown." So I took that date as his birthday and added one year for his age. "7/11" is his and my lucky day. Serendipity I changed my profile picture and added a Happy 18th Birthday Patrick album to celebrate the date
Patrick got all the tuna he could eat (one whole can of "human" tuna - not cat food) over the course of the day, and a brush whenever he "asked" (he jumps up on the bed and meows) for a total of five times. I wonder how these little guys perceive all this good fortune - if they see it as special or do they just live in the moment? Perhaps too much analysis and I know Patrick was very happy plus enjoyed several long naps. He does, however act much differently as Christmas day approaches, and uncharacteristically sits on the sofa across from our little lighted christmas tree for a couple of nights before Christmas, instead of sleeping on my bed as usual.
