This is my Anastasia when she was a kitten

This is when I got her home with me, she was around 4.5 months old. She already had the size of a domestic cat then.

And this is her now at 8 months:

She is still growing though and she wont reach full size before she's 4-5 years, as she is a Maine Coon.

I'd say it took mine about a year. She is still quite petite compared to her older brother.

I wish I knew how to post pictures...
I got my cat from the shelter when she was about 8 months. She still looked like a kitten, albeit adolescent, especially b/c she was a bit sickly and thin. I was just looking at pictures of her and she really began to fill out and look like a healthy adult cat when she was about 14 months.

It's a gradual process. A kitten doesn't look like an adult all at once. The big kitten imperceptibly becomes an adult.

I don't think there is any set "time frame" and it probably depends on their genetics. Our youngest ones, four brothers from the same litter, are now a year and a half old and they still look like kittens (and act like them too!!). We had them all neutered around 6 months of age, but some of my other boys were neutered much younger and they do look like big boys, so I'm not sure if that aspect matters. I'm gonna stick with genetics!!!
