Default Wellness Turkey 12.5 oz cans

Have been feeding two cats for over five years with Wellness canned food. Each day I alternate, one day turkey, one day chicken. Recently I have noticed vomiting by one of the cats. Gaffed it off because the other cat seemed fine. Then my pet food supplier hinted that the turkey might be a problem so I watched the cats closely and discovered that both were vomiting and only when I fed them the turkey. On one occasion, both of them would not eat it, period. With no definitive information about a recall I guess I will just quit using the turkey. Since switching to Wellness, at the suggestion of the vet, my vet bills have dropped and the cats have never been healthier.

We also switch our furkids (4 are ours and 2 current house guests) between Wellness wet chicken and turkey. The 12.5 oz cans. No problems at all!

I don't trust any of these companies anymore...they just keep poisoning our animals with toxins and by-products every time I turn around! Does anyone here make their own cat &/or dog food? I think for now it's the only way to be absolutely sure they will be healthy and safe...I'm a vegetarian myself and hate the idea of dealing with meat, but I'll do whatever I have to do to keep my little carnivores by my side!!! Please help!!!
to prevent any other problems, switch the cat's diet immediately. switch to blue buffalo

I've tried to may of the so-called "best" commercial brands-- including Wellness and Iams and Science Diet and Organix-- all of which leave a lot to be desired. The only commercial food I'll give my cat is Spot's Stew by Halo www.halopet.com
and I only give him this food when I've run out and don't have time to make more of his home prepared raw food diet as per www.felinefuture.com

Default For Luvmycat

I understand your concern and motivation. I can fully appreciate you were not "making up stuff." Thanks for your good intentions and for posting the results. We've been feeding our 7 pound Burmese Diva nothing but Wellness for a year and a half with no problems. She's got a beautiful coat and seems happy in all respects. Of course, a lot of the credit goes to her staff but she gives none. And the sign of a good staff member is that I ask for no real recognition. An occasional licked nose is sufficient. Purring is nice too. Getting me up in the middle of the night for a snack is not so good. Especially when she doesn't eat but just wanted to be sure her staff is responsive 24/7. Sort of like a fire drill.

Anyway - thanks luvmycat.

Ya know--one has to be a gosh-darned research scientist to get this food business under control. I research--but then miss one teeny point and have to go back to square one. Example--fed Nutro--then decided it wasn't the best and switched to Felidae dry--then decided wet would be better--so--Wellness comes up as a great food--all sites are highlly recommending--then I find out it is made by Menu--the crappy company that had melanine and had food recalled.
So--now I am going to try Natural Balance----and keep my fingers crossed--Geez------

DVP's Natural Balance was involved with the food recall as well.
One thing about Wellness...their Core food is made in ONE factory only and ONLY Core is made there. So no cross contamination from wheat, rice, etc...since their Core contains none of those ingredients.
I don't think their was any single one Pet food Manufacturer that wasn't effected by the recall back in 2007.

This thread keeps coming up...! Just to update again, (in case some of you don't look at the whole thread) the test came back fine. My mom was very relieved, and is back to feeding her cat Wellness, he's been doing great on it, no problems at all. My cats fell in love with Pinnacle, so we're sticking to it, but just wanted to chime in again in case anyone was worried. I agree Wellness Core is very good, Shelbygirl1...in fact, my dogs get that as their snack when I have to work all night at the E-vet center, (their main feedings are dehydrated raw, but they gobble it up in 2 seconds and I don't want them to get hungry while I'm pulling a 12 hour shift...since it's grain-free I feel better about it, their stools have been great and they're maintaining healthy weight, etc. It's a recent switch from TOTW, which was fine for awhile, but then started disagreeing with them!)
