We have two cats. Both are about 3 years old. Star, a piebald 15 pounder, and Ashley, a Blue Russian 10 pounder. The problem is Ashley. She is a very sweet and loving cat, but has a horrible vomiting problem. We have both cats on a mixture of wet and dry cat food. Each cat gets 1/4 of a can of wet food at about 6:30 each night. We leave a communal bowl of kibble out for them to munch on, and make sure they always have plenty of water to drink whenever they want it. We dropped the amount of wet food we were giving them because Ashley would bolt down half a can and then promptly vomit it up. After cutting it back to 1/4 can she seemed to be doing fine. She vomited once when a friend came over (we moved to a new apartment about a month ago), and I chalked it up to being nervous around a new person who might smell like her Cocker Spaniel. Last night, my girlfriend's brother came over and once again she vomited her entire dinner (after gorging on kibble). I don't want to withhold her food when company is coming over, but what can I do to stop her from vomiting? These aren't hairballs, they are definitely all kibble and wet food. I would put their dry food in separate dishes, but Ashley is perfectly fine with eating Star's food when she's not around. Its highly frustrating and yet if we restrict her food, that's like punishing Star. What can I do to make her stomach behave??

I would take her to the vet to be checked out. What brand of food are you feeding her? She might be allergic to some ingredients. Try and feed her food with no by-products or grains. Catinfo.org is a great source of info on what to feed your cats. Good luck and Ihope she feels better.

Take her to a good vet. A holistic vet would be best. And probably needs a food change.
