Yay! I just called the vet, and everything went great... negative for flv/fiv, and she is waking up from surgery now. I'll pick her up after work, and then we go home for recuperation. So excited, and of course a little nervous! As for her name, I am now leaning towards Simone with the nickname of Mona. My mother's dear sweet cat Simon died last year at age 3, from a brain tumor - so she suggested the name to honor him. Whaddya think? Either that or Roxy... Hmmmmmmmm.

Oh, and while I love the name Kismet, I vetoed it for one reason... her nickname would end up being Kis or Kizzy, which is too close to my old cat Gizmo (who I called Giz and Gizzy). That would just make me too sad, since I'm still grieving her loss. At least with Simone, the nickname would be different enough from Simon.

What great news! Congrats!
Ya know...she sort of looks like a Roxy! (don't ask me how a Roxy looks!)
But she has a sassy look to her that could spell some catitude!
Roxy Simone!

Hope you're not getting bored with my updates, but just thought you'd want to know how she's adjusting. I put her in my bathroom, which is carpeted and has a separate wash room (where she is)... she was very scared and loopy for about 2 hours, and then started to settle down. I fed her around 8pm, and administered her pain medication & antibiotics. She was surprisingly easy to medicate, btw! After the pain meds kicked in she seemed MUCH happier, laid down in the corner and accepted my touch. Oh boy did she like that, and now she doesn't want me to stop petting her - I even got my first PURR as she sat in my lap.

Anyway, that's the update for now, and here are a couple of pics... looks awfully content, but it could just be the drugs, LOL.

Btw, how long should I keep her confined to the bathroom? I'm thinking at least until the stitches come out (2 weeks), but then what?

Edit: Well, she just un-confined herself! She had enough of the bathroom, and escaped into the bedroom... she wandered around for a bit, and is now sleeping under the bed. Oh, and she absolutely LOVES my dog & also tried to cuddle with my cat (who was slightly irritated but curious about her). She is already turning into a love-bug, and I know the three will get along famously.

Friends already!

Wow! That's amazing she has adjusted so quickly, especially with the dog! There is no way, she was feral...someone had either lost her or dumped her...their loss, your gain!
Keep the updates coming! I love a happy ending!
