I just use my dinner plates for my kitties and me... i wash them...
yeah plastic is bad cuz it has lots of chemicals and holds in bacteria
And I would change foods to see if that is part of the problem, often times it is!

My geezer girl, Chelsea, had a really bad case of acne a few years ago (very much like the Mike Tyson reference earlier in the thread). It required a trip to the vet's, topical medicine for a week or so, and changing out the plastic dishes for stainless steel ones. Since then, knock wood, it hasn't come back.

Hi all, an update: We finally got to the vet. It's acne. And poor cat was due for shots, so not a fun day. Rabies and the usual distemper, etc.

Anyway, vet told us that hydrogen peroxide can be irritating. We also think our cat is a bit sensitive, so we are only going to give her acne treatment every other day or so. Vet sent us home with some benzoyl peroxide for cats.

I'm glad it wasn't something else. Funny too, the day we went to the vet the acne was doing ten times better!

We are back to our ceramic bowls as the stainless steel was just not working (too low of a bowl). Vet says that ceramic is just fine, just dishwasher them every week.

Also, food is fine, it's the same we've been giving her for over a yr. and the same stuff the shelter was giving her.

Thanks for all the responses!!!
