I adopted Princess one month ago, my very first cat. She is 2 years old and it seems to me she is hungry most of the time. Where I adopted her they told me to feed her 1/2 cup twice a day. That is also what PetSmart told me to do. Princess is begging for food and when I do put some food in her bowl she eats it up likes there is no tomorrow. She whins more when she doesn't get the amount of daily food she wants, or maybe needs.
Another thing she does when I give her moist chunks of food with gravy, she eats some of the food and licks the gravy until the gravy is gone. She refuses to eat any chunks of meat, chicken, seafood that is not smoothed with the gravy. I scoop up the leftovers right away and put them in the container with her other food/gravy, but she begs me for more. I don't want to under, or over feed her. Although she does eat the food, it appears she likes the gravy more than the food itself. Any suggestions?
Cats like to get their water from food. So you can add a little more water to the food and mix it up. She probably is "drinking" the gravy.
