I'm sorry, I'm just catching up on all these threads....How is Gracie doing?
It really does sound like she was traumatized with her ordeal of the rain....Have you tried the Rescue Remedy...it maybe enough to calm her back into her normal behavior.
4 cans of catfood a day? Really? That is a lot of food! Does she eat anything else? (re another brand or dry food?)

Hi everyone and thanks. I had not looked at this thread and I am overwhelmed by all of your help. You guys are great !! I certainly will try that Bach Remedy. I had never heard of it. She seems to be a bit better (eating more and sleeping sometimes at the foot of my bad, if I place her there) . If she's not better by Saturday, I guess I will take her back to her doctor.

I hope the kitty is better, but altered appetite is a sign that something is wrong. Continued altered appetite can be a sign that something is very wrong and (as someone has already suggested) can cause problems of it's own. Cats HAVE to keep eating or they can suffer very serious side effects (like liver damage). If you haven't already - please take her to the vet right away and ask for a full blood panel work up and thorough physical exam. It'll be an expensive vet visit, but well worth it.

Well, thank you to everyone who inquired, I did take Gracie to the vet and she again said that she did seem fine, but gave her an allergy shot (she is always so itchy) . She had not lost any weight so that was one worry out out of the way. She is still sleeping all curled up in that basket, but she does sleep with me at night. So, I guess that a lot had to do with the trauma of me going away for a few days and being left alone in a house with an extremely inconsiderate young adult and her goofy (loud) friends. I guess I'll have to wait until Kelsey is married before I can go anywhere again.
