I am curious as to what women think about men who own cats. Typically men will own dogs and attempt to portray their masculinity in other ways such as owning big trucks. I grew up with cats so I have rather taken a liking to them. This is Tucker, and I have had him for a little over a year. Any opinions or viewpoints from a female perspective would be appreciated. Thanks.
I drive a big FWD pickup.
I don't have a dog.
I have nine cats.
They have all ridden in my pickup.
Our Vet, and the four other women who work with her, like me.
They sent me a beautiful plant for Christmas.
The doctor made a nice card and they all signed it and sent it to me when one of my kitties died.
The lady next door likes me and my cats.
But the lady down the street with all the bird feeders in her yard hates me and my cats.
She threatened to shoot them.
Although she didn't say it, I got the feeling that she would like to shoot me also.
My wife and daughter love the cats.
They tolerate me.
Those are all the women in my life and most of them like me and my cats.
Tucker is beautiful and looks a lot like our Lola. As far as men having cats instead of dogs, I think most women who are animal lovers do not care whether it's a dog or cat as long as the pet is loved and well cared for.
My husband was raised with cats. I was raised with dogs. Got married and we both converted each other...so we have a mixture of both. My son loves both, but with being single and in an apt., cats are just easier. So he has 2 Bengals. I say, if a female thinks badly about you for having cats....SHE just isn't worth the trouble!
It's funny, though. Cam Janssen plays in the NHL, yet he has a cat named Boo and listens to Celine Dion on occasion. Loving your cat and listening to Celine Dion aren't that weird, but it doesn't fit his hockey personality.
A guy who loved cats and didn't own one because he was too worried about what others think would be highly unattractive to me. Personally, I think taking good care of any pet is a desirable trait.
I'd totally fall for a guy who likes cats over dogs.

PS: That's a beautiful cat you have there!
I gotta agree.
