Brava!!!
You might also try giving him some squirts of Nutri-Stat in his mouth. It's a high-calorie vitamin supplement, and it really, really helped my first kitty when she got sick and didn't want to eat.
Good luck!!

Sorry just not getting back on line....Sidney did not go to the vet tonight. I called the office to ask since Sidney decided he wanted to drink water out of the bowl and then EAT HIS FOOD by himself!! He was so proud of himself afterward, giving himself a good bath (first time he has groomed himself since he has been here) rolling on his back for a little belly rub and then curling up on the office chair where I sit now typing this. He is on my lap as we speak and purring away.
I think I am scaring him when he eats, cause I have burst into tears both times he did it.. lol. I am glad to have been able to breath a little sign of relief but am going to take him in tomorrow when the 1st vet who saw him will be back in the office and I have to go in anyways to pick up a refill for our one dog.
We just took one step forward, hopefully we can keep moving in that direction. Good night!

Great that Sidney is coming along!
A suggestion--since he does try to eat, ate at the vet, but sometimes you get emotional when he does (completely understandable!), maybe you should try just leaving him alone to eat? Just give him a dish of food and walk away? I used this trick when my son decided to be a picky eater, I'd just put the food on his highchair and walk away, then take away whatever he didn't eat. It got worse before it got better, he'd throw the food on the floor, whatever, just no reaction was the best reaction. Trust me, he didn't starve! BTW, he weighs about 150 pounds now!

I have tried to leave the room when he eats and when he goes to the potty but I have to watch and see what he takes in since it is such an issue right now. I dont break down into sobs, just a lot of happy tears... I keep his food and litter box in the office away from the other two cats I have. Whenever I leave the office, all he wants to do it jump into the office chair and curl up to go to sleep.
He really wants to be around my other two cats, I take him out on the couch with me and he just sits there and watches them.
And my husband was doing office work last night and Sidney jumped up into his lap....it was all over after that. He said he is afraid to pet him since he is so little but you can tell any doubts he had about taking in another cat just went out the window. Sidney has a face you just cant resist.

Just got back from the vets...Sidneys blood test for his sugar levels came back as normal. He is 1lb 10 oz... and also got an iv treatment and did really well with it. He also got a Revolution dose for fleas, although they didnt find any live ones on him. He did eat and drink a little more on his own shortly after my post earlier this morning. His eyes have cleared up and he looks good, just still worried about his eating and weight. The doctors told me to just keep doing what I have been doing because his blood sugars are what they were concerned about. He has not vomited anymore and had a bowel movement today which he has not done since Saturday evening. I am very hopeful that he is going to be okay, we just need to take it one day at a time.
