I don't think it's flea dirt that's causing the orange color.....the vet was actually in awe of the new hair growth that seemed to be a different color. We will see? Anything is possible.

huh!!..... had a friend years ago that had to undergo several rounds of chemotherapy.... and when his hair grew back in each time, it was a slightly different color.... guess it can happen to our furry ones too.......

yes, my 15 year old cat is balding between the eyes and ears- but no redness- he is just super old

My cat lost much of the fur on her tail a few years ago, and her tail is pencil thin to begin with so it was not a pretty sight. It grew back with no intervention on our part and I still don't know what caused it. No redness or irritation however.
