ScoopFree litter box
Any one try it? Likes...dislikes?
I just finished setting one up...interesting. Bought it on the recommendation from my daughter. It uses crystals...so less tracking and absolutely no dust or smells. The litter comes in throw-away boxes that one can use for quite awhile depending on how many cats are using the box.
BUT...some very smart gentleman came up with a ForEver Tray...which you just empty and re-use. Cuts down on the cost tremendously. So far, so good and the cats have all "christened" it, so I'm guessing it has been accepted. We'll see.
Here it is: ScoopFree: ScoopFree Self-Cleaning Litter Box
Although, I bought it from Amazon..and they sell the tray as well. It was cheaper too.

I would love to use a litter box like that one! I checked it out but I don't think it's big enough for Pumpkin...she's 20 pounds of snark and attitude, or should I say cattitude! Plus I have 2 elevator butt pee-ers. I finally gave in and made my own litter box from a 30 gallon storage bin. The things we do for our fur babies! I'm glad it works for you...at least someone is getting a break!

Way out of my price range! I'll just stick to a regular pan with Fresh Step.

So far, so good! Even my 2 big guys....16 and 18 lbs, fit well into it. We also have a "utility bin" made into a litter box...works great...but I'm bound and determined to cut down on the tracking of litter.

I did see the hood, but all of my boxes are contained either in litter cabinets or bins. Mostly to keep the dogs from "snacking"

our rag dolls each need 2 trays. one for pee and one for poop. And they put their front paws in one tray and the business end in the other. since they are so big I have to use storage bins as well.

We have a ScoopFree box and the forever litter tray. I'm happy with it but I think the cats prefer the regular boxes we also have for them. We have three cats so we have several boxes and I don't know if they would use the SF one more often if the others were not available. I also added a long, under-the-bed Sterlite storage bin to their options. All of the cats seem to enjoy the luxury of the extra space!
Speaking of which, I've put off cleaning those boxes longer than I should...

Mine seem to make the daily decision of which box will be "the box" of the day. One starts, and they all follow suit.
I have noticed, it is rare they poop in the ScoopFree box...which is actually fine with me! Your right...I'm guessing it would be used more, if there weren't other different type boxes available.
