Cat drinks out of toilet
Does anyone else have this problem? I cannot keep him out of the toilet- it's hard to remember to close the lid. Also, he jumps in my shower after I get out and licks up the water. I can't leave out glasses of water or he will stick his paw in it and then lick the water off his paw. He is so obsessed with water- so weird!

My cats drink out of the toilet once in a while just to show me who's boss, but the other stuff is weird. You have a bona fide water cat!

Other than closing the lid, not much can be done.
But, one caveat---do you have any type of automatic cleaner in your toilet? Many years ago we had a cat drink out of the toilet and there was a cleaner in the toilet, she developed kidney problems.

One of my 2 cats loves drinking out of the toilet - I just close the lid. She likes to get in the bath tub and watch the water drip from the faucet but oh watch out if she gets any water on her (detests being and getting wet). Now, the other cat will stay outside for hours in the rain and come in soaking wet.

My cat wants to play with the water inside the toilet. We always close the lid. We made it a habit.

My brother's cats drink out of the toilet all of the time. Finally they just designated one of their toilets the official water bowl for the cats and nobody uses that toilet for its true purpose except the sister who came to visit and didn't know about this arrangement. Oooops, sorry kitties. I didn't mean to pee in your water bowl - really.

I've had a few weird "water cats" over the years. One we had used to play in the water while my wife was soaking in the tub. He often fell right in and the wierd thing was that he didn't even care. He kinda liked it, especially when he got all wraped up a given a good rub with a big towel when he got out.

One of my cats does this too. She likes water in general and it is normal for me to come home and find her sitting in the sink waiting for someone to start the water dripping for her.

2 of my cats do this. It's not a problem for us because we USUALLY shut the lid but we always keep them flushed and clean and don't use automatic cleansers so the water is fine. They lick the shower water too, which is also fine.

My cat was the same way as a kitten. He would get in the toilet. He would drink out of glasses. We keep the lid closed, and he rarely gets on the table to drink out of our glasses anymore. He will fish an ice cube out of the water bowl if you put one in there.
Do you mean like this?
