MISIONES, Argentina, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Argentine police say a destitute 1-year-old boy was kept alive by a colony of stray cats who shared food scraps and kept him warm in the city of Misiones.

The boy, who had been missing for several days, was found by Police Officer Lorean Lindgvist, The Daily Telegraph reported Saturday

Wow, the cats in Argentina are nicer than the people. Actually, that really isn't surprising.

How sad that people would walk by and ignore the boy. Life must be dirt cheap in that country.

I hope the stray cats were rewarded for being so helpful.

Maybe but I don't think so... if anything they were probably taken by animal control

Hopefully his father and him both get the help they need. I wonder why the mom just left her son like that?

I don't think that there is an animal care and control division in Argentina. The mother most likely left her son b/c she couldn't take care of him. In fact, in many poverty-stricken countries, it is common to see newborns in trash bins. Argentina is a third-world country and does not have governmental assistance programs--for animals or humans--the way that the U.S. does.
