We bought 9 Lives Food tonight. They have one bowlful left of the previous food, which is cheaper, They kept looking at me like, we're supposed to eat this when the better food is in the container?
So I gave the cheap food to the feral. The indoor cats got their new 9 Lives. I haven't seen Preggo stray for two or three days.
My neutered male keeps mounting and biting the necks of our spayed females.

How annoying for the spayed females, maybe it takes some time before he understands that he's neutered, hehe.
.........
So I was going to a pet store today to buy kitty litter. I was about to pay for it, then a man next to me started asking the cashiers what he was going to do with his cat and its litter of 5, since the animals shelter (actually the one I volunteer in) wouldn't take them in and he was moving to a place where no pets were allowed. I have no idea why he asked a pet store (since our pet stores in Norway sell fish, birds, rodents and some bugs only).
My goodness! I just HATE when people decide to take in cats just for fun and don't see a future together with them. First of all... why didn't he have his cat spayed? Second of all WHY move to a place where they don't allow pets when he knew he had pets? Geez!
I just wanted to take the 8 lbs kitty litter bag and BANG it on his stupid head.

K,
I know what you mean about people taking in a cat then not understanding what it's all about. I see this all too much in the neighborhood the shop is in. Which is why Mali ended up liking us......

Now I feel even worse...
Got back from the vet and Anastasia's got serious dental/gum issues. They have to pull out her front teeth and her problem is probably chronic since she's got this problem so young. The worst scenario is putting her to sleep, if pulling out her teeth wont help.
Needless to say, I've been crying ever since I got home

I've never once taken an approach to my kitties' teeth before. They have them all.. they're mostly white. Their gums are always healthy. (that's usually the first thing I check on a new animal) They don't have problems eating, or bleeding... but other than that...
Can you get a second opinion? I've never heard of cat dentistry being the sole backing support for early euthanasia.
I swear some days here make me feel like such an irresponsible pet owner. ...cat denistry!

Thanks Chasey *hugs*
Maryland, they actually did bring a 2nd vet in. Some sort of dental expert and they both agreed on this. I was quite in shock when they told me everything, but now I don't think they mean that I'll have to put her to sleep right away, but that the problem may progress and if nothing helps it may have to be done. I'll ask more questions next time. She can live without teeth, but the problem is if the gums still stay red and sore after having done so. Meaning she will still be in a lot of pain.
They will have her front teeth pulled out in two weeks from today and until then I have to feed her wet food only and give her liquid antibiotics every morning and evening. I probably have to have her controlled at the vet regularily from now on to see if we'll be able to slow down this dental problem. I hope she'll be okay and maybe she'll get away with this for a few more years, I hope so. Or better, get rid of the problem forever!
I just hope she'll be okay and that she'll live with me for many many many more years. I SO didn't see that coming and I haven't felt this upset for quite some time. I had a very close relative die this fall and I didn't feel as bad as I do now. Which also makes me a feel slightly guilty.
I love her so much

Thanks It really feels great to hear supportive words from fellow cat lovers. Not everybody understands how a person can get this upset about a pet.
I will do everything I can for her and needs to be done to keep her alive and happy for as long as possible. She does seem rather content about having her favorite kind of wet food all day now. She's like "Oh I'm loving this new lifestyle, meowmy!". Ignorance is bliss, hehe.

LOL.
I know I've been giving Jensen his wet food. Only he thinks he should have fish and shrimps when EVER he wants. He's got a few things to learn. He's also into roasted chicken every so often. I make it every few weeks and he knows he's going to get his own for dinner. He also likes boiled chicken. Old fellow's got missing teeth from when he was in the wild so a soft meat dinner is always wonderful.
And it's usually followed up with a tiny bite of lemon cake.
Sometimes I think that cat eats better then I do.
I understand all to well what you are going though. When Jensen was diagnosed as diabetic and was stuck in ICU for three days all I wanted to do was cry and cry. He was in such bad shape and his blood sugar was so high there was a high chance he wouldn't make it home. We'd had him for not too long and he'd made himself my buddy. He likes to go outside and do projects. He likes to garden! Or assemble something. Or even go weed the yard. And right now he's ready for me to set up my swimming pool so I can get in it and swim and he can lounge outside.
We still don't know how old Jensen is. And we'll never know. But he can stay as long (this is from a Friend of mine- this saying....
Lord willin' and the creek don't rise!
