The thing is, I have personally seen the ravages of communicable diseases such as parvo and lepto too many times to ever dream of demonizing vaccinations. My own pets are vaccinated every 3-5 years. I have read many of the links offered here at one time or another...I am not ignorant. I'm making no money off of vaccinations...I am not greedy. I have simply weighed the risks and benefits for my pets and come to what I believe is a balanced conclusion.
I have personally seen, in addition to what I've been formally taught, very few negative effects of vaccinations. Nothing like I would expect if I was only exposed to anti-vaccination literature. But, as I said, I have witnessed the results of not giving the appropriate vaccinations. How sad for those pets who suffer from preventable diseases. However, I am sure there are some who would argue that vaccines cause preventable diseases. I am not convinced, but I don't doubt their sincerity.
I believe that it is the right and responsibility of each pet owner to consider all the information and do the best they can for their own pets. I also believe that it's possible, and perhaps more helpful to discuss the topic without attacking vaccines or the people who choose to limit them.

why are vaccines a "one size fits all" ? did you know that your huge great dane gets the same shot as your little teacup chiwawa. That's probley why not many large dogs have bad reactions to shots, but a lot of small dogs do, and I'm talking really horrible reactions, sometimes death
