One of my cats is starting to get picky with her wet food. What food, flavors, and/or seasonings can I mix with it to make it taste better? I was also wondering if any baby food flavors (meat or veggie) would be ok to mix. Are there any vegetables that are considered unsafe for cats?

Maybe she simply need more variety. Give her something different occasionally. My cats almost always eat dry food (from the vet), but an occasional can of wet food helps their digestion.

Thanks for the reply! She gets 4 different flavors but she's getting picky lately and only likes a couple of them. The food comes in variety packs so I can't pick and choose. She's 17 years old and can't eat dry food anymore so wet food is all I can feed her. I'm hoping to get some ideas on what flavors and seasonings I can mix with the pouches she's getting picky about and also whether it's safe to mix purees of baby food (meat and/or vegetable) with her food.

Merrick's canned food is excellent; no by-products, no chemical preservatives and human grade food that resembles a (human) stew rather than a loaf style.

Wellness also makes a great canned food! Smells like chicken soup. As long as your kitty doesn't have any special dietary needs (like a prescription diet) I would try a bunch of different foods and see what she likes. We have had clients who feed their cats baby food, and I have never heard one of our vets curse them out for it but just for mixing in for flavor, not for their actual main diet.

Some good brands of natural like foods in addition to the Wellness, Innova, Newmans own....we have a dog food called california natural, and I assume that they also make cat food. I recommend these for a couple of reasons...one, they are all natural type foods and high quality diets, but also they all have similar types of ingredients so you could switch between them with less likely stomach upset.

Good luck
